The PIL has been approved and listed for hearing on October 27 before a double bench comprising Chief Justice Vasanta Kumar and Justice Ali Muhammad Magray. The PIL was filed by J&K Students Welfare Association seeking postponement of class 10th and 12th exams till March 2017. The petitioner Danish Bhat has pleaded that government should be ordered to take steps for completing syllabus of students. The student’s body also sought directions to complete practical work in the classes. The petitioner also prayed that government should make situation conducive for holding of exams. The Association pleads that there have been only 84 working days in the ongoing academic session and students have not completed more than 40 % of the syllabus.
